On February 19,1978, after much prayer, fifty people met for the purpose of organizing a new Baptist church.  Months later,  a Constitution Day ceremony was held for Trace Ridge Baptist Church at the Ridgeland Community Center.  There were ninety-four charter members.  Initially, the church met in double-wide trailers.  Ground breaking ceremonies were held in July 1978.  The first building was completed in December 1978.  Two additional structures were subsequently added .
